The Apple iPhone 14 Pro is rumoured to include both hole-punch and pill-shaped cutouts at the top of the display. Now, as per a new report by Macrumors, both the cutouts will not be visually separated when the display comes on but will be in one contiguous, longer pill shape which would lead to a unified pill shape. The report is based on information from an anonymous tipster.
The longer pill shape at the top of the display may help in a more minimal look which can also be less distracting for users when they are viewing content on the iPhone 14 Pro.
The tipster has also reportedly claimed that Apple has plans to “visually expand the blacked-out areas around the cutouts to host content. For example, Apple could make the area slightly wider to fit status icons on the left and right sides, or even extend it downward into a large rounded square when delivering certain notifications.”
The report says that there has been similar talk regarding the unified pill software implementation across Chinese social media networks but adds that just like the anonymous tipster, these reports have also not been verified.
All shall be revealed on September 7, when Apple hosts its ‘Far Out’ event. The event will be held at 10 AM PT (around 10.30 PM IST). We just have to wait for about a week. The Cupertino-based tech giant is also expected to announce its next-generation Apple Watch Series 8 and Watch Series 8 Pro at the event. The Watch 8 Pro is expected to come with better health and fitness features along with other improvements like sensors, battery life, durability, etc.
The third speculated device that may arrive at the event is AirPods Pro 2. The true wireless earbuds may feature an all-new design along with LE and LC3 codec support.
