Google keeps experimenting with the design, features for Play Store to make it offer better user experience. Recently, the official Android app store has received a couple of new features and not it is reportedly getting another new, but minor design update as a part of Google’s Material You design.
9to5Google has reported that Google has started rolling out a wider and bigger Update button for Google Play Store. Now, the changes come as a part of Google’s Material You theme which initially updated the look and feel of the Play Store app, later it was updated with modern rounded buttons.
The bigger Update buttons, as per the report, is a server-side update. So, it may take time to arrive to all users.
Also, the bigger Update button under the My apps and games section appears to be a welcome change, especially, if you are someone who loves to manually update their apps. The bigger button means bigger touch area and it can come handy if you have a long list of app updates pending.
Meanwhile, Google is also working on a major Play Store redesign for tablets and foldable devices. As a part of the redesign, Google will make the content and apps front, right and centre. Also, the new side Rails will be placed at the vertical centre at the left. While, the Search button will also see some change. Google previewed the updated design at it’s I/O in May and it is arriving next year.
